About Mel

Mel Hopewell is a writer, designer, and educator who believes in building community through creativity and learning.

Mel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Capital University and a Master of Arts in Rhetoric and Writing from The University of Findlay. She is an instructor for multiple colleges.

In addition to teaching at the college level, Mel leads creative writing workshops, which typically focus on personal essay, short story, and memoir.

Mel’s design work stems from her love of story. She believes the “stuff” we display and how we live and style our home is all part of our story. Home should reflect who we are.

Mel blends the old and the new to create comfortable, organized spaces that are beautiful and functional for everyday life.
