What We’re Reading

The Copper Top Creative team shares a love of reading. We have this beautiful blend of shared and differing interests, which is so fun!

Our shared interests include memoirs, personal essays, short stories, and children’s literature.

Where we differ or have individualized preferences are fantasy, romance, or a combination of the two – romantasy. Poetry, classic literature, historical fiction, biography, and beyond.

I really could go on and on…

Put simply, the Copper Top Creative team loves books, so periodically, we’ll share what we’re reading.

Mel’s Picks This Summer

Home Stories by Kim Leggett

I visited City Farmhouse in Franklin, Tennessee, and picked up Kim’s book and other home treasures while I was there. It’s so fun to travel and draw inspiration from other designers and authors.

Dear Writer by Maggie Smith

I’m almost always reading a craft book of some kind, and I really value Maggie’s writing advice. As an Ohio resident, I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting Maggie at The Drexel and Gramercy Books in Bexley, OH.

My Friends by Fredrik Backman

As a fan of Fredrik Backman's writing, I am excited to join a book club discussion about his latest novel, "My Friends," at Gramercy Books in Bexley, OH on Aug 5. I'm a huge supporter of brick-and-mortar bookstores and attend their events regularly. Whether I'm participating or leading a book discussion, I love the community and engagement!

I haven’t journaled in years and roasting foods I love and that taste great but are not good for me keeps me entertained and motivated to change my eating habits.

Read the Damn You Doritos blog post for a sample of my food journaling.
